Better Homes and Gardens blogged about using a plastic cereal container and turning it into a trashcan, and I saw the finished idea pinned on Pinterest.
A few days later, I was about to throw away a giant, dishwasher gel pack container that was empty when I realized IT was the perfect size to do the same project.

Because the container was clear, and I didn't want an ugly trashbag showing in my car, I used some cute fabric scraps to Mod Podge onto my container.
That was it! SO easy. I want to put down some velcro on the bottom of my container to keep the container stable and still in the car, but I am excited to finally have a place to put wipes, napkins, straw wrappers, gum, etc.

My little trash generator likes it too! Let's take it to the car!
We certainly generate a lot of trash in that car, so I'm sure this will be great!

ReplyDeleteWhy just use this idea for trash? All kinds of ideas are popping into my head. You could repurpose the large kitty little cans for dog food or cat food storage(those cost a fortune). Or make several to use in the laundry room to disguise soap powers or dry bleach.

Deleteanother idea to keep it from moving around in the car is to place a rock on the bottom of the garbage can under the bag.

ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing idea. The Velcro thing is also great. Indeed, we do produce lots of waste in a car and having such a trashcan will keep things organized and cleaned. This post will definitely inspire others to try out this simple project.
